Aztlan Athletics specializes in managing events that bring together a community of runners to do what they love for causes they believe in. Having a wide variety of events to host, each one was given a unique brand identity that expressed the theme chosen by the corresponding non-profit beneficiary. The branding, applied to promotional and marathon-related collateral, was instrumental in providing a memorable experience for participating runners.
MOMS
HELPING MOMS
Every year, New Economics for Women co-hosts a 5K marathon during Mother’s Day weekend to help raise funds for women with children facing homelessness. This client opted for a refreshing update that was inspiring, but in a not your average mother’s day soiree sort of way. What we have instead is a bold, motivating aesthetic that ties the adrenaline with the feminine. Way to get pumped for an early morning run.
MISSION
2 MISSION
As a 5K marathon held as part of Active SGV's 626 Golden Streets festival, the brand identity of Mission 2 Mission presents it as freestanding yet still maintaining its connection to the main event. Gabe the Sasquatch and official mayor of the San Gabriel Mountains is the star of the show here. This Active SGV icon is incorporated into the Mission 2 Mission identity that is applied throughout the promotional materials and merchandise.
CONQUER
THE OVERLOOK
With a 282-stair-climb that concludes the 5K, Conquer the Overlook is Aztlan’s toughest race. Straight-forward lines and a bold color palette make this one feel tough and daunting. The visual identity is one that invites you to the challenge. It wonders if you have it in you. This is definitely one for the courageous and determined. Luckily, participants who finish this grueling marathon are rewarded handsomely with shirts, medals, tacos, beer, prizes, and a well-deserved sense of victory.
